Times have changes. What used to be considered "Weeds & Pests" have changes their roles.  As well even how we use some plants and consider what the "edible part" is has been improved.

 

Take the humble radish for instance, if it didn't make a nice bulb in the root - let it flower and eat the pods!  Things like Lambs Quaters and Persilen are edible and not a threat to your garden.

 

The Japanese Beetle is a problem insect.  On the other hand the lady bug and the lady bug larvae are very benificial in your garden, they love to eat the aphids!
