This was the first of two big events for the Perth Dupont Community Garden. The second would be the following week. There was a lot to do to ready the garden for winter. We also had some projects to make the garden more functional. It was exciting to have visitors come and help. I think it was the first step in bringing the community together. The student volunteers received letters for their community volunteer hours.

Goals:

  • Repair the main pathway with new limestone covering.

  • Excavate the corners of plot 12 and plot 22, to make a secure path

  • for the delivery trucks.

  • Finish the harvest for the Charity Plot (Now the Sharing Garden)

  • and prepare it for next year.

  • All gardeners are expected to clean their own gardens.

The Weather:

Adam Giamborne braved the weather that day as he came to meet and talk with some of the gardeners
These student volunteers also braved the episodes of hail that we had that day. They received letters for their community volunteer hours.
