All gardeners and their guests are expected to observe the ’Community Gardens Program Regulations’ and the following gardening guidelines. This is to protect the rights of all the gardeners.

I understand that the produce from plot #19 “The Sharing Garden” will be given to a charitable organization such as the Food Stop. It is Not intended for personal use.

  1. I will keep my plants and gardening activity limited to my own plot. I will prevent my plants from sprawling onto walkways and adjacent gardens. I will stay out of other people’s gardens, I will not plant, harvest nor pull weeds unless specifically invited by that gardener

  2. I will take on at least one Garden Duty for the season and will participate in the ‘Spring Garden Prep’ and the ‘Fall Clean Up’ events.

CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND NON-COMPLIANCE

Please report to the Core Group if issues arise with another gardener. We will try and help resolve the situation. The manager of Parks, Forestry, & Recreation may also be called in. In the event of non-compliance with the above rules and guidelines, the Garden Group Coordinator will issue a written notice to the member. If at the end of a two-week period or after two warnings the problem has not been resolved, the plot will be reassigned and membership will be revoked,

SIGN UP LIST FOR THE GARDEN DUTIES A

You may wish to take on a garden project for the summer.

  1. There are some bare spots in the garden grassy area that need to be prepped and grass seeds applied, and watered regularly until the grass is established.

  2. The space between #18 and #19, and between #20 and #21, need to be filled with bricks that have been donated to the garden.

  3. Raised garden bed for the seniors. This is a major project and will need several people working on it. It will probably need fundraising as well.

  4. The fence along Symington needs to be trenched out along the bottom, from behind the shed to the tennis court fence.

COMPOSTING 2007

All gardeners are expected to chop their ‘greens’ into 1” pieces, ask Marcel or Susan for help or suggestions how best to do this.

You will notice that there is one bin that has a segment out of it, like a mail slot. Which ever bin has the open slot in it is the bin where you should dump the chopped greens.

Here is the weekly Schedule for people to mix the brown and green into that bin. They would also make sure that the mix is turned and moist enough.
