Our Garden Shed Finds A New Home June 2013

In 2005 this garden was installed in the Symington Avenue Playground Park, that action started a new life for this park and for our neighbourhood. that new life also spread to the Perth Ave. Public School.

Eventually after a few class visits the School became more and more involved with our garden. In 2009, they planted lettuce in out garden, and came back a month later and had a wonderful salad! The following year, they got a full garden plot. Since that time the children have enjoyed visiting the garden - planting, watering and harvesting - as well as learning many other things in the garden setting.

As our community garden has grown and matured - our needs have as well. So, in May of this year, we got a new garden shed, with the promise of electrical power too. It was decided at our garden meeting that we would send our original garden shed to the Perth School, for their little bikes and playground toys and equipment.
