Andrea giving a tour and orientation of the garden

It was a perfect day for our spring clean-up and it was a pleasure to see everyone working together in the sunshine, to see one another, and to meet new gardeners.

We got a lot accomplished! From weeding the assorted flower beds and edible landscape garden to levelling and moving patio blocks for the new picnic table (kindly donated by a neighbour). We made a point to fortify the ground around the cement bunker – it now prevents flooding and is safer for gardeners to walk around that area.

Thanks to all PDCG gardeners and volunteers for

such a great turn-out and for all the hard work involved in cleaning up the garden beds and sheds, and the maintenance and repair projects.

Parks, Forestry and Recreation Department donated trays of pansies which were planted in the cement bunkers in the park along with lovely hand painted signs which explain their usefulness in the garden. Please water and deadhead as needed.

We welcome volunteers for the horticultural maintenance team.
